Speaker 1:

Well, hello you guys. My name is Brooke and welcome to my podcast. Blogger with a twist. So I know what you guys may be thinking what are you going to be talking about on your podcast? So on my podcast, you guys can find a range of topics about lifestyle, maybe some rants or even story times about my life or whatever. So if that sounds interesting, then definitely do not forget to subscribe to your family, to your friends, to your mama, to your grandma, about my podcast and, last but not least, sit back, relax, get your snacks, your pizza, whatever you like to eat, and let's get this episode popping.

Speaker 1:

Hey you guys, and it's your girl, brooke, and I am back with a brand new episode. And I know, I know it's been, I believe, about two weeks since my last episode and I guess I took another unexpected hiatus, but your girl is back. So hopefully, you guys out there have been doing amazing and just living your best life. As far as me, your girl has been doing good, just been working at Starbucks and trying to get my life together. And also, let me tell you guys, okay, I did get a chance to try YY's pizza and I have to say I was very disappointed. Okay, so I think it was a couple of days ago. I was on my Uber Eats app and I noticed that the YY's that was not that far from my house was having a sale on the pizzas. I think they were like 20 or 40% off. I don't remember the percentage, but I know it was a discount. So in my head I'm thinking okay, I'm going to try the pizza at a discounted price and I'm going to see if it's going to be good or bad, because I had seen some reviews on TikTok and some people said it was good, it was better than Caesar's pizza. Then some people said it was nasty. Their crust was burnt. So you know, when it comes to food, there's always a biased opinion, especially depending on what location you get your food from.

Speaker 1:

So I ordered a pepperoni pizza and two garlic knots because I wanted to full experience, you guys. And so when I got my pizza, I opened up the box and, number one, my crust was burnt, and I'm not going to say that was burnt like beyond recognition. And then, when I tasted the pizza, the pepperoni was really salty. And then my garlic knots okay, when I tell you they were stiff. I felt like they reminded me of that meme that had went around, I think, a couple years back about the girls hair being stiff. I felt like garlic knots stiff wear. So, yeah, overall, I did not enjoy my pizza and garlic knots from Wauwais and I think, for now on, I'm going to stick to what I know, which is the milkshakes and the club sandwiches and the hoagies, but other than that, I'm sorry, wauwais and the pizza is a no for me, okay so yeah, besides my Wauwais pizza disaster, today's episode is going to be an update episode, so I'll be talking to you guys about my latest shenanigans at work, my thoughts on a Barbie movie that I saw last Monday and, lastly, what I have been doing to help drive more traffic to my online red bubble shop, and I feel like this piece of advice that I may say could be helpful to any of you guys out there that may have a small business where you are selling products, or maybe you have a personal blog or a website. So, without further ado, grab your little munchies or whatever and let's get this episode hopping.

Speaker 1:

Okay, so let me first start off with my latest work shenanigans. So the first thing that happened is that some lady came into my store and stole two dollars out of the tip box. So let me give you guys a play by play, how all of this transpired. So this particular day, I believe it was a Friday, and at the time I was on POS, aka register. So at the front we have two registers, one on the right and one on the left. And so while I'm on register and so while I'm at the register on the right, a lady walks into the store and so when she came in, in my head I'm thinking she is probably going to ask for a cup of water, because I believe that particular day it was really humid outside, it was hot, and when she came in she looked sweaty in the face.

Speaker 1:

So as I'm standing at the register, this lady, instead of coming to my side, she goes over to the register on the left, and on the left is the tip box that's kind of like connected to the register, kind of like tied to it, so you cannot really grab it. So when she goes over to that side, about a few seconds later I noticed that she is taking money out of the tip box. So I walk over and I grab the tip box and by that time I think she only managed to get two dollars out of the tip box. So once I got the tip box, now I'm kind of like shooing her away like a fly, like lady get away from the tip box. And in that moment I really wish I had a fly swatter to kind of like pop her hand away because lady get away. So after about like five minutes of me making sure that she does not get no more money out of the tip box, she then has the audacity to ask me can I get one more dollar? In my head I'm like lady, no, lady, you done already stole two dollars. Okay, take the money and keep it moving. So I told her no, you cannot have no more money. So after about like 5 or 6 minutes, she eventually leaves the store.

Speaker 1:

So then, once she's out of the store, I turn around to my coworkers. Mind you, it was 3 of them on the floor when all of this was happening. Now I'm looking at them like y'all did not do anything, especially my coworker that was near the warming oven where we warm up the food. Like girl, you are near the food and the pastries. Why did you not take a blueberry muffin or a scone and throw it? Or take a bacon gouda, or a sausage, egg and cheddar, like come on, because you know I'm over here trying to fight for the tips, okay, and nobody is helping the sister out. So after that, tell me why.

Speaker 1:

About 10 minutes later, the same lady comes back in and steals a juice. So if you've ever been inside of Starbucks, I don't know how you would, I don't know what you would call it a chill wall or refrigerator but normally in that section you have the juices, like the orange juice and some other juices, and the bottles of water and the protein boxes and the parfait and the paninis, and so that is where she got the juice from. And the thing about it is, at the time when she took the juice, I was dealing with another customer, so I did not have enough time to actually stop her. But then, at the same token, I don't get paid enough to be security and stop people from stealing. And on top of that, that is not the first time people have actually stole things from my job. So to me it's kind of like just another day at work, to be honest. But yeah, that was a crazy Friday. So that is my first shenanigan.

Speaker 1:

And then the last one was I did cut my finger. You guys, I am so accident prone. I don't know even why, but what happened is that that particular day we ended up closing the store early because there was some work being done on a roof, specifically, we got a brand new roof and so, whatever adhesive or materials they were using to put on a new roof, the fumes from the materials started seeping into the vents and it started to smell like gas. So, yeah, we had to close early. So after we closed early, we all started, you know, just cleaning up, wiping things down, mopping the floor, and so in the midst of me wiping things down, specifically our bagel cutter I kind of sliced my finger. Thankfully it was not like a super deep cut to where I have to get stitches, but I definitely learned a very valuable lesson, which is I'm never touching the bagel cutter slicer at my job to clean it ever again, because I'm trying to keep all of my fingers. Okay, I'm not trying to be like Edward Edward's what's that? What's that guy? Edward's sister hands. Okay, I ain't trying to be like that, okay, so that was my latest work shenanigans for the moment.

Speaker 1:

Next thing I will be talking about is the Barbie movie. Like I said, last Monday I went to go see the movie. So initially I was going to take my boyfriend, but he did not seem that thrilled to wanna go see the movie, so I took my best friend instead, and I have to say you guys, I really enjoyed the movie. I thought it had a very cute and funny storyline, and watching it brought back a lot of nostalgic memories, because even though I've always been kind of like a tomboy, there are still some girly things that I like, and so when I was younger, I really did enjoy Barbie. I remember I had a Barbie airplane. I believe I even had a Barbie dollhouse at one point. So, yeah, I really enjoyed the film and seeing all of the outfits it just got me thinking. I remember that outfit. So if you have not seen a Barbie movie, I would definitely say, go see it. I would definitely go see it again. But yes, it was a good movie and I'm not going to lie to you guys, I don't mind watching kid movies sometimes, especially movies about things that I grew up seeing and doing in my generation.

Speaker 1:

And then the last thing I'll be talking about is what I've been doing to help gain more traffic to my online Redbubble shop. So probably one of the biggest things that I've been doing is being more consistent on my business Pinterest account. So, probably for the past four or five months, I wasn't using my Pinterest account effectively as I should, and so I started to notice that my numbers started to drop. And then, about two or three weeks ago, I started doing some research. I started doing some research on how to get more traffic to my online Redbubble shop, because I noticed that I was not getting a lot of traffic, and then also, I really do like using the Pinterest to help gain traffic to my blog as well. So, definitely being more consistent on Pinterest and making sure my pins are visually I'm not going to be using them appealing, because, as you all know, pinterest is a visual social media platform, kind of like Instagram, and so I feel like, when it comes to platforms like that, you really want to make sure that your content is engaging enough to actually make people click on it, so that, and also just making sure I'm using the right keywords.

Speaker 1:

My little piece of advice for anybody out there that does have an online business I would highly recommend that you sign up for Pinterest. It is completely free, even if you choose to do a business account. It is also free as well. One of the things I really enjoy about having a business account is that I can look into my analytics and I can see what's trending, and it kind of helps shape how I'm going to make my next pen, if that makes any type of sense. So yeah, you guys, that is pretty much what I've been doing and I've been seeing a lot more views and stuff and I'm super excited.

Speaker 1:

So if you guys have any more questions about how I use Pinterest, definitely feel free to shoot me an email. My email should be located in the description of this episode and other than that, you guys, hopefully you enjoyed this week's episode. It was a mixture of laughter from my work shenanigans to me, sharing with you guys my thoughts about the Barbie movie and also my disaster with Wawa's pizza, and then, lastly, hopefully my little advice about using Pinterest will help motivate you to make your own Pinterest account. So thank you guys again. So much for tuning back into another episode and hopefully I will not be taking another unexpected hiatus. So you all have a great day, a great weekend and until my next episode, peace.
