Speaker 1:

Well, hello you guys. My name is Brooke and welcome to my podcast. Blogger with a twist. So I know what you guys may be thinking what are you going to be talking about on your podcast? So on my podcast, you guys can find a range of topics about lifestyle, maybe some rants or even story times about my life or whatever. So if that sounds interesting, then definitely do not forget to subscribe to your family, to your friends, to your mama, to your grandma, about my podcast and, last but not least, sit back, relax, get your snacks, your pizza, whatever you like to eat, and let's get this episode. Hey, you guys, and it's your girl, brooke, and I am back with a new episode and hopefully you guys out there doing good. So basically, before we get started in this episode, I know that in my last episode I told you guys about me coming out with new merch for the fall, in Halloween season, and so I realized after uploading that episode that I never told you guys specifically what the designs actually say, because I thought that you guys would just find out for yourselves. But for those of you guys that actually want to know what the designs actually say, I figured why not just tell you guys.

Speaker 1:

So, starting off with my fall designs, when you go to my online shop, the link to that is in the description. When you get to my page, you will notice that I have some of my products broken up into different categories. So if you're looking for the fall stuff, you would go to my category that says fall slash autumn lovers. So in that category I have my sweat, I have my sweater, I have my sweater weather design that comes in a purple and black font and a purple and white font. And then I also have the pumpkin spice design that comes in either orange and yellow, brown and white or it kind of like beige color and blue. And then the last design that I have so far is called autumn is my favorite color and what I really like about this Pacific design is that it incorporates a lot of the hues and color palettes for the fall slash autumn season. So definitely check out that design.

Speaker 1:

And then, when it comes for the Halloween stuff, that category is called for the love of Halloween. So in that category I have my happy Halloween design that comes in either a orange font, a green or a black font. And then I have my say cheese design, which takes a cute little whimsical idea of a black cat. So if you like black cats then you would probably like that design. And then I have my stay spooky. So version one of stay spooky you can get it in a black font, a orange font or a purple font. And then version two of stay spooky is in a yellow font and then also a black and yellow font. And then the last design that I have right now is called hey boo. So the Hague Boo can either get it in a black and orange font or a white and orange font. The version two of Hague Boo is yellow with a cute little yellow ghost in the middle.

Speaker 1:

So that's kind of a little rundown of the latest designs that I have for my fall in Halloween collections. And so, like I said before, if you would like to order something, either send me an email to my Twisted Blogger Design email, which is in the description, send me a message on my Facebook page or you can just click the link yourself. Also, make sure that you guys do follow me on Redbubble, I believe if you do, you will also get a notification when I do upload a new design. Or you can also just sign up for my email newsletter. You can find that by clicking on a link to my blog and sign up to my newsletter and sign up to my newsletter that way, and yeah. So besides that, I just wanted to kind of get that out there before we started this episode.

Speaker 1:

So, basically, for this episode, you guys, I'll be talking about three things. So the first thing is this new technique I've been doing for my teeth, which is called oil pulling. The second thing I'll be talking about is my latest drama with Lyft, and then the last thing is a podcast networking event that I'm actually attending with my boyfriend this week and I'm so excited about that. So you know, like I say my intro, if you guys want to know more, then grab your popcorn or your little snackies and let's get this episode popping.

Speaker 1:

So, starting off with the oil pulling for your teeth, I actually came across this on TikTok. You know the old faithful tiktok, and basically you take a tablespoon or a spoonful of either coconut oil or olive oil and you basically swish it around in your mouth for about like 20 minutes and it's basically supposed to help pull out all the toxins out of your gums and help kill the bacteria and help if you have like bleeding gums and from what I have read, I think coconut oil is the one that is the most popular. So when I started looking at the videos and I started reading some of the benefits and the fact that oil pulling is a remedy that has been around for centuries, I decided why not give it a try? So a couple of days ago I went to the market that's across the street from my job and I got a jar of coconut oil and the brand is called Seven Farms and I got the refined coconut oil. And so I have to say you guys that even though I've only been doing this oil pulling for a couple of days, I have noticed some difference with my gums. They're not bleeding as much and also I noticed that my teeth do look a little bit whiter. I did recently find out that I should probably be using unrefined coconut oil versus using refined, because I think with refined it goes through more of a chemical process versus unrefined. So I'll probably pick up some unrefined coconut oil sometime this week.

Speaker 1:

But I would definitely say try doing oil pulling. I know, like I said, if I did not say it, there are some people that use olive oil, so you can try a different type of oil, but I do like the coconut oil. And then also, just because you are doing oil pulling, that does not mean that you should not brush your teeth and floss. So I'm just saying that to say oil pulling is not a one-stop shop. Okay, you still have to brush your teeth, you still have to floss. Oil pulling is just another thing you can add in your oral hygiene routine.

Speaker 1:

Also, if you guys are wondering what you should do first as far as, like, the order of oil pulling, should you brush your teeth and then oil pull or floss? And so for me, I like to do the oil pulling first, and then I'll rinse out my mouth with some warm water to get the oil out, and then I'll go in with my floss and then my toothbrush and then scrape my tongue and that's pretty much it. And so whatever way you want to do the oil pulling, whether you want to do it after you brush your floss, it's up to you. Just make sure that you are getting the oil out of your mouth so you're not keeping those bacteria and toxins in your body, and then make sure you do not swallow the oil. And lastly, make sure you spit it out in a trash can, because if you spit it out in your zinc it could clog up your pipes, and so the next thing I want to talk about is my latest drama with lift. And let me tell you guys, sometimes I really wish I did not use lift, or even uber, but I feel like, as of recently, I've been having more problems with lift.

Speaker 1:

So a couple of days ago, my boyfriend and I were in center city because we had dropped off his godson back to his mom. So we took the train to drop off his godson and then we took the train back into the city. So once we got back into center city, we got off at Jefferson station, and if you're from Philly then you know what area I'm talking about. So when we got off at Jefferson station, which is inside of the fashion district, but years ago when I was growing up, it was called the gallery. So we ended up getting some master walk for dinner because I just had a taste for Chinese food. So after we got the master walk, we went up the escalator and walked outside of the fashion district because I had to make a run to CVS to get something.

Speaker 1:

So we walked over to CVS and I noticed that, you know, it was kind of getting like a little cloudier and darker outside. It looked like it was going to rain and thankfully, that Pacific Day I did bring my umbrella, because I remember looking at the weather and hearing about Hurricane Lee, so I just wanted to be prepared in case it did start to rain. But anyway, so after I got what I needed out of CVS, we walked a block down to the Chase Bank because my boyfriend wanted to get some money out. So we went inside of the Chase Bank and there were two ATMs. So one of them was not being occupied and the other one was. So my boyfriend tried to use the one that was not occupied and it was not working. And then when the other person that was using the other one left, he then used that one and it still wasn't working. After about five minutes of him trying to use the ATMs, we decided to leave. So when we walked outside of the doors it just started raining and started pouring, and so now I'm just like, oh my gosh, why is it raining? But at the same time I was happy because at least I had some type of umbrella. But in all honesty, it didn't really do that much, because I still got soaking wet. But let me continue on with the story. Like I said, it started pouring down raining when we walked outside of the bank, so now we're standing by the door of the bank.

Speaker 1:

So then I decided to call the lift to take it back to his house. So I called the lift and then, once I called it, said it should be there in about five or six minutes. After about a couple of minutes I look at my phone and it says that your driver is going to depart in four minutes. So I noticed across the street there was a car that was parked and in my head I started thinking is that my driver, even though on my location, where it says Pickup, it says Chase Bank, and this man is parked across the street from the bank. So I decided to call my lift driver because I wanted him to do a U-turn to pull up in front of the Chase Bank so my boyfriend and I would not have to run across the street in the rain. Tell me why. When I called this man it went like straight to voicemail. It said something like the Verizon customer, something like that. So then, after he did not pick up the phone I do not know why I decided to do this. This was probably not the smartest idea, but tell me why.

Speaker 1:

I decided to walk out in the rain with this tiny behind umbrella and I went to the curb and I started trying to signal my driver from across the street, like, can you come around to our side? Tell me for like two minutes. Okay, he did not even do anything, okay. And so eventually he finally decides to make a U-turn and pulls up to where my boyfriend and I are standing there to bank. Mind you, my boyfriend is still by the doors of the bank, so he's not getting wet, but I am okay. So my driver pulls down his window well, you know, rolls down, you know used the, but you know. So his window comes down and I ask him are you here for Brookies? Like yeah, but then he then has the audacity to tell me you can't get in my car because you're wet.

Speaker 1:

When I tell you guys, I was so annoyed at that point because in my head I'm thinking first of all, it's pouring down, raining outside. So obviously, okay, you, you might get a customer that might have gotten wet. Number two I just stood out here for like two minutes trying to signal you're behind to come across the street. And after all of this, after my pants have gotten soaked, my shirt, my backpack, my shoes, even my hair got wet, you didn't have the nerve to tell me you can't get in my car because you're wet. So after he said that, I kind of just walked away because I just felt myself getting angry.

Speaker 1:

So after that, thankfully Lyft did find us another driver and the guy did take us. But when I was telling our new Lyft driver about the other one, he was saying how that is ridiculous, because in a lot of ways it was. You know, right now I understand this man probably did not want to get his car wet, but at the same time it was only water, it's not like it was not going to dry, and at the end of the day this man was still going to be getting paid for taking my boyfriend and I. But note to self, okay, I will never, ever call Lyft if it is pouring, raining outside, because it was. It was a hot mess expressed and so, yeah, besides my hot mess thing with the Lyft thing, the last thing I'll be talking about really quickly is the podcast networking event that I'm attending with my boyfriend this week.

Speaker 1:

So, funny enough, my boyfriend is the one that actually fell out about this event and it's a great opportunity basically for both of us, because my boyfriend is an artist, so this will be a good opportunity for him to perform and have new people listen to his music, while I can be in a room networking and meeting other podcasters in the area. And so, yeah, I am super excited because the last podcast networking event I think I attended was back in January when I flew down to Florida for a podcast and that was really exciting, meeting other podcasters in different states and stuff like that. So this will be nice, you know, to just, like I said, meet local podcasters in my area, because I do not know any local podcasters really. So, yes, I am super excited and I am so grateful that my boyfriend actually stumbled upon this opportunity. So, yeah, you guys, um, I think that's all of the information for this episode.

Speaker 1:

So, if you guys enjoyed it, definitely share it. Uh, have. If you have any questions, send me an email to my brookbrunson gmail account and, like I said about my merch, definitely go buy it if you have not already. And hopefully this episode was a little insightful, especially about the oil pulling. Like I said, if you want to step up the game with your oral hygiene, definitely give it a try. So you all have a great day, a great weekend, and until my next episode, peace.
